All collected documents were classified and analyzed to summarize their merits and defects according to different training parts. A design orientation combining the muscle training in waist and abdomen was developed. The motions of circular sliding track and pendulum were merged in a swinging trainer with two possible modes. Dimensional synthesis was done to satisfy human factor engineering. The property of the new design is to crunch and stretch muscles in waist, abdomen, and back to achieve the effects of training when swinging left-to-right or front-to-back. Three-dimensional computer model of a two-in-one swinging trainer was constructed by using CAD software in this research. Motion simulation and interference check of the mechanisms were accomplished.
