Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 光電工程系研究所 === 99 === Radio-on-fiber (ROF) technologies with fiber to the home (FTTH) transmission system provide a very promising candidate to combine the advantages of wireline and wireless. Considering optical multi-wavelength generation for the ROF signals coexist within the same transport system in order to become truly cost-effective. Therefore, FTTH combined ROF transmission utilized multi-wavelength for multi services has much potential. However, many approaches of optical multi-wavelength carrier generation have reported recently, such as four-wave mixing in nonlinear medium (FWM), optical double-frequency heterodyning, external modulation. Generally speaking, the external modulation scheme is more interest with multi-wavelength carrier generated with a simplified transmitter. In this structure, we presented several methods of optical multi-wavelength generation using direct modulation and external modulation, and discuss the features between them. Then we used one of them to apply at hybrid ROF/FTTH transmission system.
Furthermore, we presented and demonstrated a full-duplex hybrid CATV/ROF transport system that using a phase re-modulated technology that directly modulated laser to generate downstream Multi-carrier CATV signal and provide upstream radio signals. In this research, we present two architectures; one of them is transmission two kinds of signal that intensity modulated CATV signal and phase modulated RF signal. The other one is optical multi-wavelength carrier generation utilizes different kind of modulations and makes application in transmission system.
