However, due to different expectations from designers and consumers, domestic market for Taiwanese original design brand is weak.Most Taiwanese designers turn to overseas opportunities for their career.
Therefore, we should promote the interest and knowledge of Taiwan's design industry to the genral public, and seek to change our consumers' purchasing behaviors.
Our government and privite enterprises should work together to create a fashion design center mall focusing exclusively on Taiwanese original brands.The mall combines the functions of education and display and provides newly-started designers with chances to set up their own brands as springboard to the international market.
Through observing JING-MING shopping district, I transform the display windows into different types of layout systems.It becomes a new way of displaying designer's products when the design and manufacture processes are also put on show.Nearby public streets are extended to guide passangers to the mall and introduce potential customers to participate in design activities and workshops.By opening itself to the public, the mall enables customers to assume the point of view of designers and enrich their experiences with the products.
