Summary: | 碩士 === 東海大學 === 工業設計學系 === 99 === From a historical point of view, the export market-oriented furniture industry in Taiwan have relocated because of higher costs of the labor, and the material export-restrictions of wood, rattan from the origin. In addition, with the growth of technology in developing regions, Taiwan has to face the competition again. By the impact of cultural and creative industries, the market also reflects the need of cultural contents. On the same time, it comes out of a modern oriental style furniture forms in the existing western modern, minimalist style furniture designing. Therefore, to achieve the balance of cultural and creative presentation and practice restrictions is still a worth issues for exploring.
In view of this, this study is divided into four steps: "survey of furniture design practice", "material resources organization", "creative design practice", and "evaluation of the cultural product design". First, to explore the points of furniture design through practical training, then to start a interview to find out the industry resources and also come to understand the manufacturing processes. The second step is executing a questionnaire to get the main design factor when considering the purchase of furniture as design guideline considerations. Step three, integrated the information and references of cultural product design, after that, produce furniture design concepts from the Ming-style chairs features, the operation of the traditional textile tool, and the metaphysical concepts of art. Last, through the modified Delphi method process to get the evaluation by experts to verify the hypothesis of the creation works.
Research summarized into three points: (1) Oriental elements has profound historical meanings, and it is worth to work with the Taiwan experience of furniture industries to solve the problems in product copying. (2) Between practical and creative, cultural product design model can help designers to gather design concepts.(3) The verification result shows that the works transformed from different aspects would show the difference in the dimensions of design intent, popular innovation, product presentation and cultural meaning, these results can be used as a reference for academic or practice research.
