| Summary: | 碩士 === 東方設計學院 === 文化創意設計研究所 === 99 === Library and documentation room have not only been regarded as a place for storing books and documents, but also as the most important place for enriching human mind and treasuring human knowledge. It is critical for a library to control the lighting by managing nature light and artificial light. A library contains thousands of books, it for sure cannot explore to direst sunlight and humidity. Proper nature light and vitalization bring the comfort to the readers in the library. This research is intent to discover each small detail for building up a user friendly environment in a library.
The first chapter analyzed the scope, the concepts, creation guidelines and steps of the library renovation project of Taiwan University of Arts. The second chapter discussed the innovation ideas and techniques which given the old building expansion and new appearance. It focused on the usage of outer big glass wall and the slant frame structure intent to draw sunlight to fill up the various spaces in the building.
The third and fourth chapters analyzed the construction plan, sub plans, drawing descriptions, and detail drawings for plumbing, electricity, air conditioning, and fire fighting equipments. With the full supports from school administration, the researcher tried to build an attractive and functional library, and at the same time, to form the impression of a modern university with great library as well.
In chapter five, the researcher evaluated the achievement of the project upon its completion and checked to see if it meets the goal. By adopting creative design and ingenious method, the project blended a building into the environment and made the library a user friendly public facility. It was hoped that the project would provide a valuable reference for the future library constructions in Taiwan.
