Summary:碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 通訊工程研究所 === 99 === In this thesis, the RFID reader for UHF band and the mobile phone antenna which are both compact and novel design have proposed. First, we propose an internal hybrid antenna for mobile phone application. The operating bands, which are resonated by a meandered radiating strip and an L-shaped feeding line, cover GSM900/DCS/PCS/ UMTS applications. The overall dimensions of the proposed antenna and radiation element are 40 × 80 × 0.8 and 40 × 10 × 0.8 mm3, respectively. The antenna’s operating bands and dimension satisfy the practical mobile handset application. The proposed antenna also has the advantages of compact size, simple structure, ease fabrication, low cost and the lower and higher bands’ patterns have dipole-like radiation patterns with omnidirectional radiation in the azimuthal plane, is suitable for mobile phone applications; The second design is the reader antenna for UHF band. The reader antenna contains a 50-Ω microstrip feed line, two resonant paths on the top side of the substrate, and a system ground on the bottom side of the substrate. Experimental results show that good CP radiation performances of the proposed design are obtained. Compare with conventional multi-layer or microstrip antenna, the size has been decreased significantly, and the convenience and suitable for handset are the advantages.
