To ensure the reliability of a operational photovoltaic system and reduce the installed cost, well design and planning is a necessary step. Solar modules can be fabricated depends on the system requirement and the specification of PV inverter. Different features in the output of different solar array configuration were analyzed by the Matlab / Simulink tool, simulation results were also discussed. To ensure the power output of a PV generation system is optimal, the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique was commonly used. Two significant methods of MPPT, i.e., disturbance observer method and the incremental conductance method, were investigated and to be discussed by their response. The disturbance observer method shows a better performance than the incremental conductance method. Adjusting the response step to be 0.05 achieves a excellent output signal response. As for the inductor current control method in converter, the synchronization of output current and voltage and unit power factor can be attained by properly regulation of the inductance.
