碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 電機工程系 === 99 === With the development of wireless applications, various communication techniques are developed and deployed all over the place. The techniques such as 3G, Wi-Fi, WiMAX/LTE, Bluetooth, ZigBee are well implemented according to the requirement, environment and distance of application. The characteristic of wireless applications promotes convenience of living quality. From the technical point of view, different protocols bring dedicated features to applications. Therefore, integrating different communication networks and allowing payloads travel through different protocols can be very valuable in current environment and architectures. This thesis discusses the issues in integrating different wireless communication protocols. Two applications are implemented based on this thesis, which are the combination of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for voice steam communication and a Wi-Fi ZigBee Gateway for remoter home control. For the voice stream on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the voice communication is implemented on an Ad Hoc network that provides p2p communication. With the integration, chat sessions can be established across facilities of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. For the ZigBee Gateway application, the system integrates ZigBee and Wi-Fi network and provides remote control for household appliances. A home Wi-Fi router is used for the role of Internet gateway and ZigBee coordinator, is available in many shops. With this application, users can use the intelligent cellphone not only for communication but also for remote home device control.
