The RFID has wildly applications in transportation, material managements, entrance guard controls and medical applications. The sophisticated applications of RFID in clinical and medical institutions are including pharmaceutical tracking, medicine bottles stick with RFID, pathological control of cancer samples and health care assets tracking, but only a few cases applied in pathology department. In general, pathology department has to operate numerous and complicated tissue sections, and some of those sections need fluorescence stained for further pathological analysis. The fluorescence images mentioned above from tissue sections which were usually stained with different fluorescence coloring need to be merged manually for detailed inspection and verification. Thus, the pathology department always generate large amount of images during this procedure and takes much time for subsequent analysis in clinic. This study is major to implement a system with RFID management which automatically displays fluorescence image based on saving pathological tissue sections fluorescence images. The developed system can save sections of fluorescence images with slide glass RFID system and automatic administration system. All fluorescence images saved in this system will be set up and managed in the database system by the index of RFID Tags, and those images will be shown immediately by using RFID reader to scan the Tags with designed administration system in the future. Besides, the system also designed an image processing toolbox for images merging and calculating the numbers of fluorescent spots for pathological analysis. In addition, to achieve a safe, clean, rapid and automatic purpose, the function of data recording, querying and deleting were also designed in this system. The system develops in this study is used to apply to pathology department and can be established a database in Hospital Information System which provides pathologists to inspect sections fluorescence images and then send out pathologic reports. For further development, all fluorescence images saved in this system can be delivered to PACS system with DICOM format to provide the need of training, tracking or diagnosing for clinicians.
