Summary: | 碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 商管專業學院 === 99 === Lean Production is originated from Toyota Production System (TPS). Its core concept lies on eliminating unnecessary waste thoroughly to create a smooth production system with many product varieties and few quantities. Due to this excellent and unique production philosophy, Toyota acts as a leader in the global automobile industry. After the research of European and American academies and industries, the principle of Lean Thinking was built so that the concept of leanness can be implemented in other industries, even in different countries or different cultural backgrounds. Therefore, in recent years, many domestic enterprises have entered the field of TPS, and also the relevant literatures on the models of Lean Production and TPS have increased greatly and discussed in depth.
This research adopts the methodologies of case study and takes a TFT-LCD manufacturer as an example. After understanding the purpose of the research and the content and true spirits of TPS, the research analyzed the performance differences between TPS adopters and non-adopters.
The study found that implementing "Lean Production" thinking can improve the overall performance of production by an amount of 51.92%. However the performances on "inventory turnover in days" and "productivity" are not very significant. The study suggests that companies must coordinate their cultures and plan the suitable strategies, procedures, and operation methods when importing the TPS in order to implement the work successfully and maximizes the effects of Lean Production. Hope that this study will provide as a reference to various domestic industries who intends to introduce the methodology of "Lean Production" system.
