In order to cope with today’s fast changing pace, new innovative design methods are developed constantly. The essence of this research is to harmonize the TRIZ Innovative Principles, Technical Evolution Patterns and Natural Species Instances through discovering the links among these three pillars respectively. These links are then amplified by collecting and analyzing products and nature’s examples. The product’s and nature’s examples could be stored into the database after artificial classifying, and they would be retrieved afterwards for new design inspiration through a CBR (Case-Based Reasoning) concept approach. For making the above-mentioned idea practical, a web-based computer-aided tool “TRIZonicle Design Tool” is developed with various real examples. The TRIZonicle Design Tool is a successful Bionic Design consulting system that can shorten the innovative process, breaking the choke point of design problem and forecast the trend of the next generation product development. Further, a new design case is presented by the proposal of the Swirl-Shaped Sound Barrier, which demonstrates the feasibility and reliability of the TRIZonicle Design Tool.
