The manipulation and comfort benefits of these input devices become more important. The purpose of this study was to find the proper input device which can take good handling and comfort into account, and provide quick and correct clicking and dragging operation. In the study, two experiments were conducted to evaluate the clicking and dragging performance by using pointing input devices as mouse, trackball, finger-operated mouse, Anir mouse, trackpad, and touch screen respectively, and then assess its manipulation and comfort benefits. The results of the study find that both in clicking and dragging operation the mouse has the shortest move times and the least errors, and the trackpad the longest move times and the most errors. For the manipulation and comfort benefits, both the mouse and touch screen have the highest assessed value, but the trackpad and the finger-operated mouse the worst assessed value.
