Player will choose the game which has the special visual effect and gorgeous can attract them to play it. Special visual effect has more and more complexity and real solidity from 2D game to 3D game. In response to the game engine of innovation, this work presents the latest game engine using the material editor in Unreal Engine 3(UDK). The aim of this work is to explore how the material editor and study various ways to produce three-dimensional maps, flow and flicker effects. To make the dynamic special visual effect in game design and how to use the Mapping skill will be the goal in this work presents. First, to analysis what is the difference between Bump Mapping, Normal Mapping, Texture Mapping, Reflection Mapping and Shadow Mapping. To introduce special visual effect types and using the content browser to make the special visual effect in game design.
