| Summary: | 碩士 === 世新大學 === 企業管理研究所(含碩專班) === 99 === This research aims at exploring the impact to Eyeglasses Industry after the passage of Optometry licensure laws and expects to understand the conflicts cased by different point of views through deeper research on the licensure articles and current industry status. In this research, three optical shop owners and three optometrist-to-be are picked for deep interviews and express their views regarding four aspects: exam requisites, practice limitation, personnel costs, and consumer’s view. Results of the interview are to be concluded into two standpoints after the passage of the licensure law. Interview summary is as below:
a. Exam Requisites: the optometrist license exam requisites in the licensure law and other relative sunshine acts are very appropriate and would help the overall quality of eyeglass industry, which brings very positive impact to the industry.
b. Practice limitation: the limitations of optical shop’s practice will help to complete the division of specialization of eyeglass industry. Passage of this licensure laws will formally transform the optometry procedure into medical practice and will boost the elimination of the inferior of the industry, which would bring profound and fine impact to the industry.
c. Personnel costs: it will definitely cause the rise of the personnel costs and difficulty in personnel dispatch after the passage of the licensure law; however, this may also attract more elites to devote to this industry. Overall speaking, the positive impact is more than the negative one.
d. Consumer’s view: the licensure laws focus on the management and operation of the eyeglass industry, which do not mention the constraints on consumer behavior. So there will not be too much impact on the consumers at the early stage of the licensure passage.
