碩士 === 東吳大學 === 德國文化學系 === 99 === There are six chapters in this thesis. In the introduction chapter, the tension, purpose, scope and method of the research were discussed. The other chapters were presented as follows. This thesis includes three large basic parts. The first part is about the political actions of Gruhl. The second part involves the important thoughts and views of Gruhl and the last one concern the interactions between Gruhl’s thoughts and his political actions. Part One- the political actions of Gruhl This is an introduction of Gruhl’s political participations in different phases, for example, associations and parties. Here are five groups: Christian Democratic Union, Green Actions Future, the Greens, Ecological Democratic Party, and German Independent Ecologists. Recitations of the establishment, how the parties were operated and the reason Gruhl left the associations. There were three periods, “the phase of Christian Democratic Union”, “the phase of the green parties” and “the phase of the radical parties.” Part Two- the important thoughts and views of Gruhl This part dilates on the important thoughts and views in each phase, the reference to the texts of the political associations and parties and Gruhl’s books. The six main central propositions are “protecting the environment and saving resources”, “criticizing the thinking of growth”, “criticizing the faith of science and technology”, “the problem of overpopulation”, “anti-nuclear (nuclear power plants and nuclear bombs)”, and “changing of cognition”. Part Three- interactions between Gruhl’s thoughts and his political actions The interactions resulted in aspects of leading, lionizing, ignoring and supplanting. The four aspects indicate the variations of Gruhl’s significances and influences in the political fields. This study discusses Gruhl’s thoughts, his practical political actions and the interactions between his thoughts and interactions with the parties he had participated. Moreover, the changings in each period point out how Gruhl turned himself a provident ecological politician into a radical ecological autocrat.
