Description
Summary:碩士 === 東吳大學 === 經濟學系 === 99 === This paper selects Taiwan’s 18 airports during the period 2004 to 2010 and use network data envelopment analysis(NDEA)and Malmquist productivity index to measure the efficiency and productivity. According to the components of the airport system by Robert et al.(2010), it is divided into three components, the landside, the boarding gate area, and the airside. The input variables are parking space, gate, and runway. The intermediate-goods are terminal buildings and parking apron. The output variables are passengers, movements, and cargo. The empirical results are summarized as follows: (1)The efficiency of the performance of the landside is lower than the boarding gate area and the airside, while the boarding gate area is relatively better than the others. (2)The expansion plan does not improve the efficiency and productivity of the Taiwan’s airports. (3)The number of airports present progressive trend in average total factor productivity is less than the number of airports present regressive trend. (4)Airport level can not representative the efficiency of airports fully, and the efficiency of offshore island’s airports is not below the main island’s airport completely.
