| Summary: | 碩士 === 東吳大學 === 經濟學系 === 99 === In Taiwan, each healthy male must to be conscripted into military service, and military service is a kind of career interruption for the men who was conscripted. They want to work or continue their studies that they plan, but they break off their training or education after military service. Compared with the men who were not conscripted into military service, conscripts would lose 2 or 3 years labour experience.
This paper based on Panel Study of Family Dynamics (PSFD) and Taiwan Social Change Survey (TSCS), and used OLS model and Heckman two-stage sample selection model. It is found that the years of military service would affect the future wage on PSFD which used OLS model. But it used Heckman two-stage sample selection model, the years of military service would not affect the future wage on PSFD and TSCS. This paper also found that the future wage was no difference between studied in college after the military service and before the military service.
