In Vivaldi’s many works, concertos were the most abundant. He had composed over 30 concertos for flute. “Concerto in G major, RV. 437” published between 1729 and 1730, was the sixth of the flute concerto collection 10. Being the late work of Vivaldi’s, there were rich variation and personal touch in its styles and forms. “Concerto in G major, RV. 437” would be discussed mainly in three chapters of this thesis: chapter one—introduction, chapter two—Vivaldi’s life and music style—first, his life would be briefly introduced; second, the features in melody, rhythm, and harmony of Vivaldi’s works; the last, Vivaldi’s concertos would be presented, chapter three—the musical analysis of compositions—discussing the approaches in composing and the manipulation of motives; chapter four—the interpretation of music playing—discussing suggestions in music terminologies, the expressions of power, and the skills of flute playing from books related to Baroque.
