description 碩士 === 實踐大學 === 企業創新與創業管理研究所 === 99 === Abstract In the ever-changing, fast-paced global competition, the insurance industry in this country has undergone a trend of merger and consolidation. Insurance companies, in order to adapt to the needs of complex financial product correction, and to meet the challenges of changes in suppliers and competitive strategies, have to improve service quality and management efficiency, and to maintain highly competent and qualified labor resources by heavily investing in training and continue education of their employees. Only by continuing reinventing themselves, the insurance companies can survive the competition. The creativity of employees plays the most crucial role here. This research aimed to study how Mandala Creativity Training Program (MCTP) improves the effectiveness of insurance company employees’ creativity. The research designed a creativity training plan suitable for insurance industry by conducting practical and interactive exercises in a classroom setting. The curriculum of the training program focuses on cognition, consolidation, skills, and group activities, and positively leverages domain knowledge, expertise, strategy, and environmental changes to produce creativity and realize innovation. Based on Mandala Creativity Training’s principals and methods, there are five areas that are applicable to the insurance industry. This research took a deeper look in these areas to investigate their effect on insurance company employees’ creativity. During the study, using the quasi-experimental model comparing pre-testing group and post-testing control group, the participants were divided into two groups of 32 people each. The first group received Mandala Creativity Training. The second group was the control group and did not receive any training. The duration of the training lasted 14 hours in a span of two days. Each participant was asked to take Newly Revised Creative Thinking with Words Tests, Newly Revised Creative Thinking with Picture Tests, Torrance Creative Thinking with Words Tests, Torrance Creative Thinking with Pictures Tests, and self-developed Mandala Creative Thinking Program survey. The results from the first four tests were used to perform T-test for proving assumptions. The survey results were used to get participants’ comments and feedbacks on the training program. Based on the data collected, the following conclusion was reached: 1. The experiment group scored significantly higher on fluency, flexibility, and originality than the control group during the verbal post-tests. This showed the training program improved insurance company employees’ verbal fluency, flexibility, and originality. 2. The experiment group scored significantly higher on resistance to premature closure, fluency, and flexibility than the control group during the graphical post-tests. This showed the graphical training program improved insurance company employees’ resistance to premature closure, fluency, and flexibility. 3. The experiment group scored significantly higher on fluency, flexibility, and originality on the verbal post-tests than the verbal pre-tests. This showed the training program improved insurance company employees’ verbal fluency, flexibility, and originality. 4. The experiment group scored significantly higher on resistance to premature closure, fluency, and flexibility on the graphical post-tests than the graphical pre-tests. This showed the graphical training program improved insurance company employees’ resistance to premature closure, fluency, and flexibility. 5. Participants of the experiment group generally responded positively to the training and considered the Mandala Creativity Training was very practical and would improve their work productivity. They also considered the training improved their analysis competency and originality. The training helped them to view matters and analyze problems from various perspectives and effectively manage the situation and solve problems.
