Description
Summary:碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 管理碩士在職專班 === 99 === Abstract This study wants to find the optimal size of elementary school from the respect of performance, so as to complement the flaw of previous researches which focused on the minimum cost. We employ the multiple regression method and select thirty public elementary schools in Taichung as samples to examine the relation between the scale of school and the educational performance. Therefore, the empirical evidence points out that the scale of school influences the educational performance which includes the indicator of parents’ concerning the school’s affairs and the one of students’ achievement. In addition, the relation between the scale of the school and the educational performance of parents’ participating reveals a U-shape type. Furthermore, we add teacher’s characteristics, the duration of the school founded and the space of the school to the empirical model as control variables, in order to inspect whether the relation between the scale of the school and the educational performance alter? The empirical result shows that the original relation remains unchanged and satisfies the robustness in econometrics.
