This study focuses on small loan cases handled by the bank, discusses the significant factors of overdue loans, and hopes to offer the references for credit evaluation, including balance between quality and quantity, bank earnings, decrease of the NPL ratio.
This study had collected the small loan cases handled by the branch of O Bank from 2006 to 2010. There are 154 small loan cases which include 121 closed accounts and 33 overdue accounts used in this study. The characteristics of small loan borrowers involved in this study includes gender, age, education, marital status, annual income, occupation, position, years of service, inquiry situation by the Joint Credit Information Center, and credit card usage cycle.
In this study Logistic regression Analysis is used to analyze which factors may affect the default of small loan borrowers. The empirical results show that the variables age, martial status, annual income, years of service, financial situation, and inquiry situation by the Joint Credit Information Center are significantly correlated to whether the loan borrowers default.
The sample bank currently manages double-track test in personal credit loan quantification evaluation. The results of this study provide only the reference to credit evaluation and examination. Manual re-evaluation is managed to reconfirm the case. The empirical results reveal that in the processes of credit evaluation, examination and authorization, these six significant factors must be emphasized.
