Therefore, reducing blood lipid level is beneficial for CVD prevention. The aims of this study is to develop mixed grain porridge powder for patients with hyperlipidemia, the grains including buckwheat, black rice, brown rice and barley. Four mixed grains porridge powders were prepared by China Grain Products Research and Development Institute (CGPRDI) according to the commercial secret formulas. In this study, eighty hamsters were divided into 10 groups, including normal diet group (7 % soy bean oil), high-fat diet group (12 % soy bean oil and 0.2% cholesterol) and high-fat diets with 4 different mixed grains porridge powders (MG A, B, C and D, 10 % or 20 % replaced corn starch). Following 8-week diet feeding, these hamsters were sacrificed by carbon dioxide perfusion. Serum triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C),and high density lipoprotein -cholesterol (HDL-C) were measured by biochemical analyzer and he-patic TG, TC were also determined for evaluations of lipid lowering effects of mixed grains porridge powders. The levels of TG are significant lowering in MG A 20 %, MG C 20 %, MG D 10 % (P < 0.05), and the lowering lipid effect of MG D 20 % (43 % reducing) is better than other groups (P < 0.001). All the levels of TC and LDL-C of MG group are diminished significantly. The serum HDL-C, AST and ALT levels of all experimental groups are not different from each other. This results suggest that all the mixed grains porridge powders can reduce blood lipid in hyperlipidemic hamsters. Chein-Cheng Heish 謝建正 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 109 zh-TW
