With the revolutionizing advents in sensor technology, hyperspectral and high spatial resolution remote sensing images are increasingly produced. It is necessary to develop techniques and models for efficiently processing large volume of remote sensing images. In this study, there different high performance computing architectures, namely multi-core, cluster computing and mix parallel model, were adopted for processing hyperspectral and high spatial resolution remote sensing images. Experimental results indicated that high performance computing techniques were able to process large volume of remote sensing images effectively and reduce the computation time tremendously.
