In this thesis, we present the experiences on the integrations of the laser marking system and on making the data base for different materials. Based on LabVIEW environment , PC could connect the biaxial galvanometric scanner controller and carbon dioxide laser controller by RJ45 and RS-232, respectively. Experimental results showed that: (1) the optimum working distance of this system is 14.8cm from f-θ lens, and where the minimum diameter of the light spot is 0.95mm, (2) regardless of the frequency of the pulsed laser, the same duty cycle would give the similar optical power output. (3)the line width of the working piece is dominantly influenced by the speed of the galvanometric scanner. The speed range would be from 10mm /S to 300mm/S and from 10 mm / S to 700mm /S for acrylic and plank, respectively. Usually, the jump speed would be set to 2000mm /S. (4) the change of the duty cycle would influence significantly the depth of the line segments, but the width of which would be nearly unchanged.
