Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄大學 === 電機工程學系碩士班 === 99 === In this thesis we used a erbium-doped fiber which is pumped by a 980 nm laser diode to achieve a profile covered from 1525 nm to 1565 nm. At the same time the EDF be used to amplify the signal in a fiber ring laser system,and add two different bandwidth filters. Add an electro-optical modulator be used to study the effects of fiber ring laser mode -locking characteristic.Comparing two different bandwidth filters, Stable mode-locking with a pulse width of 48 ps was achieved at 3.73 GHz modulation frequency (filter:13.4nm). Stable mode-locking with a pulse width of 156 ps was achieved at 3.202 GHz modulation frequency(FBG:01.~0.2nm). The EDF also be used as a optical switch in the experiment.The tunable laser light (control light) be used to control the ring laser signal (signal light), and we can simply use light to control the output of fiber ring laser. The highest modulation frequency is up to 1kHz, We also study EDF which have different absorption for different optical signal,and the optical switch have influence for different energy.
