Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 機械工程系 === 99 === Fish basin is a Chinese cultural heritage. Possessing a distinctive shape and vibration characteristic, when rubbing the handles of the fish basin, unique water ripples or even tiny splashes will be generated around specific portions of the basin and a loud monotone note will be produced. This phenomenon not only is amusing but also worth studying. This study employed finite element software MSC.Nastran for constructing a numerical model for vibration. Then this model was tuned by modal testing results for better accuracy. Thereafter, dynamic analysis software MSC.Dytran was employed for analyzing fluid-structure interaction and simulating the movement of water ripples. These measures can help us understand what are causing the above-mentioned phenomena. To understand the association between sound and natural frequency, the vibration experiments were conducted using a real fish basin, to observe changes in water ripples and record sounds. The finite element model was also modified to add some simple combination tones to the sound.
