PV energy systems are being extensively studied because of its benefits of environmental friendly and renewable characteristics. Unlike oil, gas and coals, solar energy does not emit greenhouse gases, or cause pollutions, and is expected to enhance the feasibility of lowering cost and increasing conversion efficiency. This thesis focuses on the developments of a high performance DSP-based isolated micro solar inverter system with maximum power point tracking (MPPT). The input voltage and current of the micro inverter are sensed to realize the MPPT control by perturbation and observation (P&O) method. The isolated interleaved boost converter achieves MPPT and boosts to 400V. With single-phase full-bridge inverter using sinusoidal pulse width modulation modulate 400V DC to 220V 60Hz AC for general electric use. The studied provides the benefits of low cost, simple configuration and good overall efficiency. A laboratory prototype system is built and tested.
