Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 造形藝術研究所 === 99 === The Thesis about the Creation of Non-written Abstract The thesis aims at studying the artistic aesthetic of modeling in Chinese characters, abandoning the normal manifestation with flat style of Calligraphy, and using the technics of molding and carving on solid ceramic body to present the elegance of Chinese Characters. Moreover, adds propylene (acrylic) pigment after completes the modeling of Chinese Characters with non-written that not only attempts presenting the visual effects, but possesses the tactile sense with touching feeling. All of the world, in characters of every nationality, only Chinese characters may be a unique art creation with single “character.” From ancient Chinese, there are many different appearances in intermediary material of creating the characters arts and modeling, and from Shan to West-Zhou Dynasty, they almost use tortoiseshell and animal bones, which named “Oracle Bone Inscription.” There are Bronze inscriptions carved on bronze wares or molded on containers in Shan-Zhou; “Stone Drum Inscriptions” in Warring States period. Before the Qin Dynasty integrating Chinese, characters are presented on bamboo slips, wooden tablets, and silk book, also carved on stone and jade. In the Han Dynasty, the eaves tiles almost have decorations of characters modeling, until recently, we may find that there are silk books in the grave of the Han; stele carving and carved stone of the Stage of Han to Wei. Each one of above mentions handwriting, carving, and molding is according of the different intermediary material, and it differ extremely the tools and movement of creations. So that Chinese characters’ creations are never fading charms. Till today, the creators researching on characters art creation may have responsibilities and missions of era, so that could develop more modern intermediary material and research new skills.
