Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 應用媒體藝術研究所 === 99 === In this land of Taiwan, Taiwanese opera is a symbol of local culture, however, the sociocultural evolution has blocked its development. Especially, for the dramas those have been played outdoor for sacrifice, the performers inside need to consider both of their life and the performance. By the exploration of this film, we try to understand the real life of those performers with all kinds of perspective. At meantime, more phenomena generated by human, incidents and materials will be found out as well. In such practice, more people could have in-depth realization and thinking for our traditional performance art. In this documentary film, I also intend to analyze the education of Taiwanese opera, we should optimize it and have comprehensive policies and system for culture and education to let this traditional performance art of Taiwan will produce different meanings and higher value over time.
The production of this documentary film took me more than 4 years. During this period, most of time, I was carrying the DV and its stand myself, following the taskforce and facing lots of suddenness and embarrassments. So the give up intention was always following me like a ghost. But, fortunately and finally, all of these negative thinking were gone. Perhaps this is a kind of acknowledge for me when I involved this business. Through this film, I expect myself could properly and fairly record what I had saw and hear within this culture. And the most important is I would like to let people understand and pay more attention on those questions that happened among it.I still remember when I touched the regular stage of Taiwanese opera at beginning, it’s quite gorgeous and full of stars, but after I left that environment, I have different and advanced perspective and reflection while reinitiate my learning progress. Life is a sort of learning and suffering, most people have been seriously confused by this topic, just like all performers within this film, they need to keep the dream of the past but now have to worry their life and hardly moving forward for their unknown future. Perhaps…C’est la vie!
