The revenue and the production values are surprisingly high in the development of this industry, though every country has its own norms and different criterion of adult-related products. The development of the internet media opens up the new international and worldwide platform for the online Adult Video (AV) industry which is able to reach consumers around the world. However, the legal dispute is the long term problem of the internet adult industry. On one hand, the content of AVs may be regarded as obscene materials which have the risk of committing offenses against morality and decency. On the other hand, the intellectual property law in Taiwan does not include content that covers sexual content; therefore, trading materials provided by the adult industry cannot be protected by the law. In other words, the adult industry in Taiwan involves gaining profits in the process of trading obscene materials, while surviving in the special gray area of legislation.
This research has gone through participatory and observatory measures in analyzing the management of pornography industries, one of the main issues dealing some illegal offenses it may be sued for. Another key concern of this research includes the strategies used by such industries to maintain economic profit.
The results of research is making a “name” boss to serve as a substitute for the real boss when the company faces legal issues so that the real boss can work without disturbance. And the company collectivizes their platforms and brands in outsourcing to cooperative factories. This process is included the parts of production, marketing, and financial affairs. This process was established to decrease financial loss and evade the risk of legal proceeding. Furthermore, the company uses a digital “integrated information system” for decreasing the cost of production and manufacture. Moreover, they make the same products to different forms, for delivering to independent platforms, such as stores and websites. Transnational business is not only a way to broaden the market to achieve eternal development but is also a way to evade the norm of law to create economic profit.
