碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 農業經濟學研究所 === 99 === Federation of Swine Cooperative (FSC) is one of the most important farmer’s associations in Taiwan’s hog industry. It plays vital role in the development of Taiwan’s hog industry. Although several businesses (including joint marketing, joint purchasing, vertical and horizontal integration) have been operated by FSC, few of their impacts has been investigated. Data limitation is the major reason impeding a thorough study on the management of FSC. Moreover, satisfactory research of its members are also absent. The purposes of the study are two folds. First, a survey is conducted to investigate the hog farmers’ participation in the management of the member cooperatives. Second, analysis of variance is applied in the study to examine the farmers’ cognition, cohesion and satisfactory for various cooperative size, businesses type or different regions. Our findings will lend a support to the future management of FSC.
