Satoyama is manifestation of the“Socio-ecological Production Landscapes”. In this study, the concept of Satoyama was adopted and searched the similar scene with the potential of Satoyama in coast north Taiwan area. Application of GIS, population database, land survey database, agricultural statistics database, and other relevant data by using landscape metrics to analysis landscape spatial pattern. The results indicated that the potential areas for Satoyama Landscape are in the New Taipei City at the suburb of the metropolitan Taipei area. The landscape of Fude Village Sanzhi District, Laomei Village Shimen District, and Pinlin Village Shuangsi District of New Taipei City with the Satoyama potential pattern. Landscape metrics analysis of spatial pattern, the agriculture and forestry land use account to 90%. The Edge Metrics analysis to paddy of patch level has high identification, and the paddy patch Geometry shape is not only complex and irregular, but also the potential area should be hilly terrain with altitude under 500 meters.
