碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 經濟學研究所 === 99 === Researches of competitiveness of nations are almost based on the integrated and consistent theory, established by Michael Porter, and mainly by using the diamond model analysis, the five-power analysis, and the SWOT analysis. This article is to analyze the competitiveness of Taiwan and South Korea, and influences of national policies to it, and to compare the differences of the two nations. The results are: 1. The overall advantage of Taiwan is higher than that of South Korea, but each of them has their own advantages in detail. 2. Analyzing the differences of national policies of them, we found that both of them have encouraged export-oriented industries; however, Taiwan, policies of future developments, includes sightseeing and culture innovation, or soft industries, as key industries, and South Korea, on the other hand, does not.
