Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 財務金融學研究所 === 99 === Icewine is more exposed to weather risks than other wine varietals, and Canada is the world’s largest producer of icewine. This paper aims at explaining the prices of Canadian icewine. We try to find a pricing model, to show the relationships between the factors and the price. The main findings are as follows: Icewine prices are significantly affected by temperature. In general, a colder climate is preferred. The accumulation hours in a specific temperature range during the harvesting season is significant but not as influential due to a nearly zero parameter. Certain grape varieties have negative impacts on icewine prices. And some regions produce pricier icewines than others. Other variables including the production year, the province where the icewine is from, and total precipitation do not explain Canadian icewine prices well.
