Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 自然資源與環境管理研究所在職專班 === 99 ===  In this study, Life Cycle Assessment and Carbon footprint method was used to evaluate the case of Network & Communication Industry. The main research subject was modem product which used in network. Through the Product Category Rules(PCR) of formation to inventory modem product. Dismantling the product and analysis product components according to bill of materials(BOM). The inventory result and secondary data were calculated by SimaPro, software of Life Cycle Assessment, to evaluate the environmental impact of modem product. In the end of interpretation of broadband equipment, the result shows the impact of global warming and non-renewable energy consuming.  SimaPro and Eco-Report software was used in this study, Eco-indicator 95 and IPCC GWP 100a was the Life Cycle Impact Assessment method to quantify the environmental impact of broadband equipment product. This study also take ISO 14040 framework and ISO 14067 principle to calculate carbon footprint and energy consuming. The interpretation of this result to explore the use of products in energy resources, raw material inputs, R & D, assembly production etc. in different area, which developed the process by enterprise to cut down the carbon footprint of products.  The result shows that the earlier network & communication product take Dual Inline Package(DIP) process to assembly electronic component would let the CFP higher than other LCA stage. In use stage, the transformer of low energy conversion efficiency, lack of power auto-management and bad custom also make CFP been higher than other stage. Network & Communication Industry have been introduced atuo-production lines, which developed varies of solution in energy saving.  However, the access of database and inventory was remaining the gap to promote carbon footprint analysis in whole industry. Therefore, most important of green products should base on environmental friendly in the future. Which need to Integrated Life Cycle Assessment and carbon footprint quantification analysis result to improve product energy using and eco-efficiency.
