In industrial design practice course, students obtain the knowledge about the development and manipulation of form quality from the teachers, particularly in terms of design communication. This study argues that the separated usage of visual information in design tutorial discussion has reduced the learning effectiveness in product form. Therefore, in terms of the feature of augmented reality in putting the visual information from real and virtual worlds together, this study explores the learning results in product form by taking knowledge transferring into account. The methods employed includes the observation survey to analysis the difference between the process of teaching-learning of form design and an augmented reality platform of teaching-learning of form design, and the interview survey to the teacher and the students, who are on the course. By the methods, this research shows items about the difference in distinct teaching. They are included teaching's behavior in form's different, model and 3D model use number of times, a sense of purpose in drawing, contrast with model and 3D model, the software interface is different, model and 3D model in identical window, influencing teaching process, and system disturbance. In addition to all of the above, the items will profit industrial design practice course. This study concludes that the augmented reality platform integrating the virtual and real information in product form could be beneficial to design knowledge transfer, and make an easier conduction of form discussion.
