Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士班 === 99 === This study aimed to investigate the teaching strategies to students with multi-culture and the professional growth needs in multicultural education of the teachers in elementary schools of Taipei city. The questionnaire was applied to totally 412 teachers in elementary schools of Taipei city. The main findings were as follows:
1. The implementation of teachers’ teaching strategies to students with multi-culture in elementary schools of Taipei city is at a medium high level..
2. The teachers in elementary schools of Taipei city show a medium level of needs in the professional growth of multicultural education. Among the four dimensions, “curriculum and teaching materials” and “teaching skills” are at a higher level of needs.
3. For teachers with different years of teaching experience, there is no significant difference at the needs of professional growth of multicultural education in “teaching skills”, “curriculum and teaching materials”, “classroom management” and “learning guidance” dimensions.
4. For low, middle and high grade teachers, there is no significant difference at the needs of professional growth of multicultural education in “teaching skills”, “curriculum and teaching materials”, “classroom management” and “learning guidance” dimensions.
5. For teachers with different backgrounds of multicultural education, there is no significant difference at the needs of professional growth of multicultural education in “teaching skills”, “curriculum and teaching materials”, “classroom management” and “learning guidance” dimensions.
Based on the findings of this study, the researcher addresses some suggestions for the education administration, school administration, elementary school teachers and the future studies.
