碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 社會與區域發展學系碩士班 === 99 === The study explored the attitudes of primary school teachers in New Taipei City towards homosexuality and the differences among individual background variances. Attitudes toward homosexuality were examined based on cognition, emotion, and behaviors. A survey was used as the research tool. 490 samples were implemented by teachers on regular staff with substantial teaching jobs among which 429 were responded effectively. Data were analyzed with statistics of description, independent sample t test, and independent sample analysis of variance. In addition. 10 teachers were semi-structured interviewed for further analysis and explanation. The conclusions and findings of the study are the followings: 1.The attitudes of primary school teachers in New Taipei City towards homosexuality are positive. 2.Teachers’ attitudes scores listed from high to low: (1) behavioral dimension; (2) cognitive dimension; (3) emotional dimension. 3.Variances such as teacher’s gender, age, seniority, understanding of the homosexual showed significant differences while teacher’s education and religion showed no significant relationship. Based on the research results, recommendations were made for school teachers, counseling teachers, authorities and future studies. Keywords: homosexual, homosexual attitude, gender equality education
