Furthermore, the relation between the parents’ attitude towards computer games and their attitude toward their children’s use of computer games was discussed. The self-compiled questionnaire: “Parents’ Attitude toward Computer Games” was adopted as the research tool. A total of 347 parents of kindergarten children in Tainan city were sampled as the subjects. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson product-moment correlation. The major results were as follows: 1.“Mothers” were the majority of the research subjects (70%), while 27% fathers participated in the study. Most of the subjects used computer more than four hours every day, and most of them used it for recreation. 2.The 51% children’s gender was male. Over half of the children (56%) accessed the internet at home and most of them used the computer once to twice every week lasting 20 to 40 minutes each time. 3.The ranking sequence of parents’ attitude was “liking”, “leisure”, “behavior”, “learning and confidence”, and “anxiety”. “Anxiety” scored the least was concerned as the negative impact of computer games on visual development and health. 4.The ranking sequence of parents’ attitude toward their children’s use of computer games was “behavior”, “liking”, “leisure”, “learning and confidence”, and “anxiety”. “Anxiety” scored the least were concerned as the negative impact of computer games on their children’s visual development. 5.Age and living areas of the research subjects caused a significant difference in regard to the attitude of the research subjects towards computer games and their attitude toward their children’s use of computer games. 6.The parents’ attitude toward computer games correlated with their attitude toward their children’s use of computer games.
