It digitizes and processes the analog electric signals from the photodetector modules including traditional photomultiplier tube (PMT) module and silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) module. Based on the PXIe bus platform, the multi-slot hardware configuration of the data acquisition system is flexible and expandable. The detector output signals are sampled by a 50 Mhz, 14-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) module which is able to synchronously sample 16 channels of data. The ADC is set to free-running mode so that signal acquisition can be stable and running without any dead-time. After the digitization, the digital waveforms are collected and analyzed by the Field Programmable Gate Array (FGPA) module on the PXIe bus. Basic signal calibration can also be easily performed on the FPGA module because of its in-system programmability. In those experiments of the DAQ system, Ge-68 was used as the radioactive source and the scintillator crystal LYSO are mounted on the SiPM array and the Position-sensitive PMT array, repectively. The results of the energy spectrums show that the functionality of the proposed DAQ system is valid.
