Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 教育研究所 === 99 === Environmental attitude is how individuals concern about the environment and their values towards nature, which can affect their environmental behavior. As environmental issues are respected increasingly, “Environmental education law” has been passed by Legislative Yuan in May, 2010. It instructs all of the citizens to carry out their activity towards the environment.
The purpose of this research is to investigate the elementary school teachers' ecological worldview by the Dunlap et. al. (2000) revised New Ecological Paradigm(NEP) scale and opinions of environmental education laws on the maritime college students. Collected data were analyzed with statistics methods, including descriptive statistics, t- test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe’.
The major findings of this study are as follows:
1. Most of the maritime college students agree to the new ecological
paradigm with71.1 % of pro-environment.
2. On the NEP scale one to fifteen, the highest of the five dimensions is ‘the possibility of ecocrisis’, and the lowest is ‘the limit of growing up’.
3. Most of the maritime college students agree with the content of “Environmental education law”.
4. Correlation coefficient between environmental attitude and opinions of environmental education law is 0.138, P=0.705, indicating a low correlation between environmental attitude and opinions of environmental education law.
5. Most of the maritime college students are willing to be environmental volunteers initiatively.
This results provide some suggestions to the teachers of maritime college and those who concern environmental education.
