Regarding the instrument, the hardiness will be measured by the Hardiness Scale (HARDY) (Jyh-Sheng, Lin、Ya-Jyh, Jeng,2011), the life style will be examined by Walker’s Adolescent Health Promotion Scale,AHPS),(Chen,2003) and the health will be assessed by GHQ (General Health Questionnaire) (Goldberg, 1987). The 5-point Likert scale has been used for making ‘junior high school students’ life style, hardiness and health questionnaire’. The stratified sampling will be employed in this survey, and there were 1104 people involved in this research (response rate is 93.24%), and the results show as follows: (1) Life style subscales from high to low are: ‘Social support’, ‘self-actualization’, ‘stress management’, ‘nutrition’, ‘health responsibility’ and ‘exercise’. (2) Health subscale from high to low are: ‘Social dysfunction’, ‘anxiety and depression’ and ‘loss of confidence’. (3) Hardiness subscale from high to low are: ‘Control’, ‘commitment’ and ‘challenge’. (4) It shows the positive correlation between ‘life style’ and ‘hardiness’ (r=0.577), the negative correlation between ‘life style’ and ‘health’ (r =-.448) and the negative correlation between ‘hardiness’ and ‘health’ (r =-.501). (5) The level of hardiness shows significant differences on smoking (t = -4.928,p<.001), drinking (t = -3.078,p<.001), eating the betel nut (t = -3.479,p<.05). (6) Based on canonical correlation analysis, it shows ‘commitment’, ‘control’ and ‘challenge’ will be influenced by ‘self-actualization’. (7) Based on canonical correlation analysis, it shows ‘control’ and ‘challenge’ will be influenced by ‘anxiety and depression’. This research can be suggested in two ways: Firstly, for school authorities, it can understand the personality hardiness of secondary school students with having good life style for improving their health. Secondly, for policy makers, based on the health promotion, it needs to cultivate students’ ‘good life style’ and ‘personality hardiness’.
