Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 航運管理學系 === 99 === According to Annual Review of Global Container Terminal Operators 2008, the world's top 20 largest international container terminal operators operate 44.1% of the global container throughput, of which more than half were from liner carriers owned terminals. Many liner carriers start to operate terminals to reduce the waiting time for berth and reduce terminal related costs. This study applied DEA to evaluate the performance of terminals operated by one liner carrier. The CCR and BCC models were used to investigate the produce, pure technical and scale efficiency of the terminals. The AR model was also used to overcome the problems caused by free computing of input and output weights in basic DEA models. In addition, the cross efficiency model was applied to obtain the upper and lower bounds of the multipliers. Finally, add to the value of cross-period efficiency Malmquist productivity index, and it allows this study to analyze and make recommendations on cross-period efficiency. The number of reefer plugs, the number of fixed container yard employees ,the number of gantry cranes, mounted gantry crane, and the capacity of container yard(TEU)are selected to be input variables; meanwhile, the volume of loading and unloading containers is selected to be the output variable.
