The differences of trace metal contents of squids among their life maturity, body length and sex are discussed. The results showed that the concentrations of copper, iron and zinc in tissues were much higher than the other elements. In addition, the concentrations of these three elements in the gland, ink sac, and liver tissues were generally higher than the muscle tissue. The trace metal contents of squid did not show proportional to its body length. The concentrations of Cu and Zn in the gland and ink sac tissues increased with its maturity. In contrast, the iron concentration decreased with its maturity. In addition, the concentrations of Cu, Fe, and Zn in the gland and liver tissues of male squid were significantly higher than those of the female squid. WHO/FAO suggests the adult acceptable daily intake for cadmium is less than 50 μg. The Cd concentration found in the squid(Loligo edulis) of this study ranged within 2.79-33.88 mg/kg. Thus, the safety intake of squid is less than 1.2kg. Keywords: squid (Loligo edulis), trace metals, northern Taiwan coast. Tien-Hsi Fang 方天熹 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 73 zh-TW
