碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 體育學系 === 99 === By interviewing 8 relatives and 2 coaches of badminton player, from the Miller junior high school, the result shows some parents in this era still keep deep expectation for their kid to become outstanding athletes. Although having different resources, the understanding of the sport drive them to achieve excellence and to conquer the stereotype of the athletes’ world. Parents are willing to train fighting will and positive manner of their kid by sending them into the school team, by managing discipline and school work, parents will ultimately agree to the Miller junior high school badminton team. In order to make progress, the parents will do whatever they can to help the team to further educate their kid, which also make the parents transform their character from the spectators into the leader. The author concludes that a supporting parents is the key element of outstanding athletes, watching badminton becomes kid’s specialty is a harsh but a sweet path to dream come true, hopefully every young athletes can create a path of their desire.
