Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 教育心理與輔導學系在職進修碩士班 === 99 === This study mainly discusses about the effect of gender equality curriculum on junior high school students’ gender knowledge,gender equality attitude and self-protection awareness. The purpose of this study is to conduct gender education in daily life to help students gain proper gender knowledge, understand their own bodies, learn how to respect oneself and others, establish gender equality attitude, promote gender harmony, and enhance self-protection awareness. Results of this study will be used to provide suggestions to educational institutions for future curriculum design and guidance.
This study used single factor experimental design with independent samples and adopted cluster sampling to select 63 students. These students are divided into the experimental group (32 students) and the control group (31 students). The experimental group received experimental treatment three times a week and 45 minutes each time, whereas the control group received the curriculum after the experiment.
The utilized instrument was a set of gender equality education scale designed by the researcher. The data was analyzed by analysis of covariance (ANOVA). In addition, the feedback of the participants on working sheets was added as the supplement of research results.
The conclusion of this study was as follow:
The gender equality curriculum had significant and immediate effects on the increasing of students’ gender knowledge, gender equality attitude and the self-protection awareness.
In the end, applications for the results of this study and several suggestions for educational institution guidance and further researcher were proposed and discussed.
