Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 教育心理與輔導學系在職進修碩士班 === 99 === The purpose of the study was to investigate the differences and relationship of family system differentiation, codependency and career decision among various backgrounds of senior high school students. The study also investigated the relationship among family system differentiation, codependency and career decision.
Questionnaire surveys are used to gather information. The instruments applied included Differentiation in the Family System Scale, Codependency Assessment Scale and Career Decision Scale. The sample of the study consisted of 689 students from nine senior high schools in Taipei Area. The obtained data were analyzed by t-test, MANOVA, canonical correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The following is the findings of the study:
First, the family system differentiation of senior high school students varied significantly in the family social economic status, but not in the gender, grade, major subjects and the birth order.
Second, the codependency of senior high school students varied significantly in the gender, the birth order, but not in the grade, major subjects and family social economic status.
Third, the career decision of senior high school students varied significantly in the gender, grade, the ranking of all siblings and family social economic status but not in the major subjects.
Forth, there was two significant canonical correlation between family system differentiation and codependency.
Fifth, there was one significant canonical correlation between family system differentiation and career decision.
Sixth, there was two significant canonical correlation between codependency and career decision.
Last, different background variables, family system differentiation and codependency were significantly in predicting career decision. Moreover, “capturing a sense of purpose through relationships” was the most dominant factor in predicting career decision.
Finally, the researcher, based on the findings of the study, provided further discussion and practical suggestions for career guidance and counseling in senior high school students and subsequent researches.
