Through the action research, the researcher finds the problems of pre- teaching activity and figures out the solutions to reinforce students’ understanding of drama elements Finally, the researcher attempts to generalize the main point of progress in designing pre-teaching activity The results of the research are as following:
1. The design of pre-teaching activity needs to select appropriate drama framework and similar drama themes, which means to use the same historical background and issues but through the different characters to connect students’ life experiences and emotion with designing the progress Meanwhile, the researcher tries not to make students have stereotypes based on students’ prior historical knowledge The important issue of designing the progress is to considerate students’ different background of physical and mental development
2. Pertaining to pre-teaching activity, the content of the subjects should be connected to student''s life experiences and the phraseology of using drama strategies should be appropriate for students’ current level Space arrangements have to meet the need of drama curriculum and students’ body stretching In addition, those students who have no prior drama knowledge could be led by demonstration, practicing and positively encourage to allow them to learn strategies operation firstly Then, they can try to investigate the content of themes
3. During the design of pre-teaching curriculum, the problems and reflection need to be well discussed with playwright and actor-teacher and connect pre-teaching activities with theatre in education The researcher suggests actor-teachers and pre-teaching activity leaders should be the same people to reduce the influence of unfamiliar leaders on students
From the results of the research, it attempts to provide suggestions for teachers and researchers who are interested in pre-teaching activity as references for teaching and studies in the future
