Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 幼兒教育學系碩士班 === 99 === The purpose of this study is to investigate preschoolers’ belief about the relationship between aggression and gender. Preschoolers’ belief about the relationship between aggression and gender is examined across two stages using two different methods. In the first stage, 80 preschoolers are asked to respond to four open-ended questions, concerned what boys or girls will do when they are angry about another child. In the second stage, another 80 preschoolers are asked to infer the gender based on four force-choice questions, concerned the gender of overt aggression and relational aggression. The findings are as follows: 1. Preschoolers hold belief about the relationship between aggression and gender. They perceived boys will engage in overt aggression. But girls’ aggression varies. 2. Preschoolers of different age infer that boys’ aggression is overt aggression, especially when the aggressor and the one who was attacked are boys. More older preschoolers perceived that boys will engage in overt aggression. But girls’ aggression varies. 3. Preschoolers of different gender infer that boys’ aggression is overt aggression. But only girls infer that the aggressor of relational aggression will be female. Boys think that relational aggression will be common in both gender.
