In the research, the sample drawn by convenience sampling is first and third graders of primary school in Changhua. The effective samples were 259. The tools used in this research are the spatial visualization ability test and the direction recognition test which were created by author. The validity and reliability of the spatial visualization test for primary school students were constructed. Data amassed was processed by statistical strategies of t-test, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, and one-way ANOVA. According to the results analyzed from the investigated data, the spatial visualization ability test and the direction recognition test both have great test characteristics. There is apparent discrepancy between different sexual students in spatial visualization ability test. But there is no discrepancy between different sexual students in direction recognition test. The analysis of grade variance reveals significant discrepancy in spatial visualization ability test and direction recognition test. There is a significant correlation between the spatial visualization ability test and direction recognition test. Among students of low, middle and high spatial visualization ability, there is an apparent difference in direction recognition test, and vice versa. Yang, Chihchien 楊志堅 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 65 zh-TW
